Green Waste

Through our Green Waste Recycling program we collect your yard trimmings and other green waste so that it can be put to good use instead of taking up valuable space in landfills. Green waste includes grass, leaves, and small bundles of tree and shrub trimmings. Bagged and bundled green waste is collected from the curb separate from your regular household trash. Limbs should be tied in bundles and not exceed 40 lbs and 3-4 feet in length. Branches should be 3 inches or less in diameter. These items are picked up and taken to the green waste recycle center where they are processed and mulched.

Green waste can make up as much as 50% of household trash during the growing season, which runs from March 1st through November 30th. That's a lot of unnecessary waste. Instead of spending time and effort collecting and bagging clippings, take advantage of our Green Waste Recycling Program and help reduce the need for more new landfills.

We also recommend DIY composting or grasscycling with a mulching mower. Mulching mowers send grass clippings back down to the soil, reducing your yard waste while simultaneously fertilizing your lawn. A win-win for you and the environment.
